REPRODUCTION ALUMINUM FERRET DATA PLATES
Many of the Ferrets were stripped of their aluminum data plates. Ferretware is having a high quality reproduction aluminum data plate manufactured which you may then stamp with the appropriate data. As you can see from the original data plate above, the Ferret owner will have to know the correct data to stamp into the plate, although in many cases some data may be unknown. It that case it will be up to the Ferret owner to use his/her judgment as to what data should be entered.
The plates can be ordered:
1) Blank "tabs" to allow the Ferret owner to stamp in appropriate data
2) Stamped with the owner's data (provided to Ferretware)
Owners should seriously consider obtaining any records that may be available from the Tank Museum, Bovington, UK. There is a modest fee for the duplication of the records but it is well worth it not only for the information contained but also for passing on to another owner when the Ferret is sold (heaven forbid).All plates will be shipped without the four corner mounting holes. This is because we find that the four mounting "barrels" welded to the hull are not always in an exact location. We will be making the plates with a very slightly larger margin to allow the owner to drill holes in exactly the correct position. It is easy to make a cardboard template to use for locating the holes. If an owner makes a template and sends it to Ferretware with the data plate order, Ferretware will drill the holes exactly as measured from your template.
