TECHNICAL GUIDE TO THE FERRET

 

 

There were a number of different types of Generator or Alternator fitted. these included; Essentially the difference between the Generator and Alternator are as follows;
  • If you have a 'generator' with a data plate that says Mark 10 you have an alternator.
  • If there is no oil piping to your generator then you have an alternator.
  • If you have a 'generator panel' that is square and flat then you have an alternator.
  • If your 'generator panel' is not one of the two illustrated in either the 1957 or the 1969 editions of the operators manuals then you have an alternator.
